St. Tammany Justice Center, May 25, 2009 @ 10:00am.  Judge Advocate Julian Rodrigue was the Master of Ceremony. Post 16 Chaplain Bishop Chopin Cusachs gave the Invocation and the Benediction. Advancement of colors was performed by the Covington High Naval Jr. ROTC. The National Anthem was sung by Marie Hefte (Covington High), Unit 16 Little Miss Poppy Hanna Boss lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Julian Rodrigue introduced our honored guests. Commander Peats gave the history of the Memorial Poppy.  Aux. Pres. Diane Judice read “In Flanders Field”.  A 21 gun salute and Taps were performed by the Post 16 Honor Guard.   Sponsoring Units were unable to place their beautiful wreaths at the Memorial plaza due to inclement weather. The guest speakers were 6th District Commander Terry Sharp and Sergeant First Class Richard McSpaddin of the Louisiana National Guard.
