LDVA SECRETARY LANE CARSON ISSUES STATEMENT ON DELAYS TO FEDERAL VA HEALTH CLINICS IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA
March 20, 2012
The following is a statement from Secretary Lane Carson of Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs
regarding today’s announcement by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs stating that health clinics planned for Lake
Charles and Lafayette have been delayed due to internal errors during the site selection process.
“As Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, I am extremely disappointed
to learn of delays to the Lafayette and Lake Charles VA health care clinics. I will be speaking with U.S. Department of Veterans
Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki very soon to convey to him the importance of these clinics to my fellow Louisiana Veterans
with the hope of instilling in him a sense of urgency in continuing to move these projects forward rather than backwards.”
