These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read. This is
one paragraph that should be in every book in every school room in every city in every state in our great Union ... Our
educators should make a lesson plan on this one statement and instill these words in the minds of all students.
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the
wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must
work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything
that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the
idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that
my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation..
5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it

CHAPLAIN’S CORNER:
AMAZING GRACE:
John Newton is the
author of the lyrics to Amazing Grace. Newton was born in 1725 in London England. Despite the powerful message of Amazing Grace, Newton’s religious beliefs initially lacked conviction.
After a brief time
in the Royal Navy, Newton began his career in slave trading. The turning point in Newton’s spiritual life was a violent storm that occurred one night while at sea. Moments after he
left the deck, the crewman who had taken his place was swept overboard. Although he manned the vessel for the remainder of
the tempest, he later commented that only the grace of God could save him. That was his first step in accepting the grace
of God.
These incidents
and his 1750 marriage to Mary Catlett changed Newton significantly. On his slave voyages, he encouraged the sailors under his charge to pray. Nevertheless,
it would be another 40 years until Newton openly challenged the trafficking of slaves.
Of all the songs
of the church, Amazing Grace, sums up all the grace of God. Eph 2; 8 say’s, for by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Newton said in his song, that it was amazing
that God could save man from all his sins. He was lost, he was blind, now he could see and he was not lost anymore.
Except God Amazing
Grace through Faith and be saved.

CHAPTER SERVICE OFFICER:
Prevent Swine Flu - Good Advice
Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS, DRM, DNB (Intensivist
and Thyroid specialist) having clinical experience of over 20 years. He has worked in institutions like Hinduja Hospital,
Bombay Hospital, Saifee Hospital, Tata Memorial etc.. Presently, he is heading our Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical
Centre, Malad (W).
The following message given by him, I feel makes a lot of sense and is important for all
to know
The
only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid
coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation
is.
While you are
still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and
development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be
practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tami flu):
1.
Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).
2.
"Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).
3. *Gargle twice a day with warm
salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation.
In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tami
flu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.
4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils
at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but *blowing the nose hard once a
day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*
5. *Boost your natural
immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make
sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.
6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you
can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses
from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.
Our next regular meeting of Chapter 351 will be on 2 November, 2009, at the Highland
Center. If you
need a ride you may contact any of the Officer’s listed below and request assistance.
Please call Johanna THAXTON (318 868 6305) and
let her know if you plan to share lunch with us at 1200 on the 2nd
